The present piece from Azerbaijan shows a very characteristic drawing. It is distributed over a wide area with scattered villages around Cuba.

Warp: strong wool yarn, handspun.
Sample weft: Wool yarn, handspun, Z-spin, untwisted, 1 thread 2 compartments, 108 threads on 10 cm.
Weaving Technique: Nagashabaf – technique
Condition: very good
Kilims were and are used by the nomads as floor coverings. They insulate against the cold and are also decorative pieces. Small pieces are the prayer rugs, also tent curtains, bags, cushions are made from it.
*Real oriental carpets differ fundamentally from mass-produced goods knotted in manufactories. Each piece is hand-knotted and unique! Irregularities in shape, color or material are no reason for complaint. These properties make each individual kilim a collector's item and underline the authenticity of the goods.
