Ancient Tekke-Turkmen khorjin (saddle bag) of small size, South Turkmenistan.
Around 1900/20.
Complete khorjin of this quality are quite rare, this example is in superb condition and benefits from a beautifully decorated central panel. Note the numerous small closing loops. The bags are entirely plain weave with undyed ivory.
Excellent condition with no wear or repairs. There are a few small signs of wear on the back.

Knot: A half knot, open on the right
Warp: Brown new wool, handspun
Weft: wool yarn, natural brown, handspun
