Each copy is a rarity that gives the furnishing style a special touch! These original carpets from Tibet with their dragons, phoenixes, snow leopards, lotus flowers and mandalas are becoming increasingly popular here too. More and more people appreciate them as an unusual addition to their living space. They are simply more than just any carpet; they have the vivid expressiveness of an ancient culture and impress with their rich ornamentation and color harmony. In addition, they are particularly heat-insulating and hard-wearing thanks to the high quality of the Tibetan wool, which is considered the best carpet wool in the world.
The carpets that we present to you here are not knotted in factories, but in Tibetan summer villages in the Himalayas. There, at an altitude of 3200 to 3900 meters, where the Tibetans move to the pastures with their herds of yaks in summer, the women use the time to weave carpets. The carpets serve as sleeping pads on the wooden bunks. This explains the dimensions of approximately 90 x 180 cm.
Because a privately knotted carpet differs noticeably in its very special originality from one made in a manufactory. The women have different preferences for certain traditional patterns and creative joy in changing them a little bit. Each of the 'village rugs' presented here is an unmistakable original and no two exist.
