This hand-knotted Turkmen Jumud is characterized by true-to-the-original and successful design.

Yomut (also Yomud, Yamut)

The distribution area of the Jomuten lies on the southern edge of the Caspian Sea and stretches across the western edge of the Karakorum Desert to the northern border of Kazakhstan. They mostly used maroon to violet brown as the base color and show Dyrnak-Göl in a staggered sequence. The border is narrow and has a white background, and a wavy tendril with rolled leaves is often worked into it. In terms of quality, Jomut carpets are between Tekke and Ersari and are not as tightly woven as Tekke. Particularly striking is the conclusion with a Gördes knot row - with otherwise widespread use of the asymmetrical knot. Weft and warp threads are of medium strength, the warp is mostly white to grey.

((We hereby expressly give the following wool guarantee. We guarantee that the carpet consists of 100% pure highland wool, without the unfortunately widespread practice of adding foreign wool today. This carpet contains no goat hair or waste wool, but is a product of quality class A and therefore you will enjoy this carpet for years to come))

characteristic

Turkmen carpets are unique because they are traditionally hand-knotted from genuine Saraja sheep hair.

Since ancient times and up to now, Turkmen people have used only natural dyes and sheep's hair in weaving.

This is a one-off.

*The colors are a little more subtle than in the pictures.

**Due to photography and handwork, color variations may occur.

*Real antique oriental carpets are fundamentally different from mass-produced goods knotted in manufactories. Each piece is hand-knotted and unique! Irregularities in shape, color or material, or repaired and worn areas are no reason for complaint. These properties make every single carpet a collector's item and underline the authenticity of the goods.
