For sale here is a white-ground and very rare Bukhara Yomud
Tent band from Turkmenistan, characteristic of the Jomud tribe. What is particularly endearing about this << Kibitka strip>> is the figurative representation: a caravan, three camels, a shepherd with two sheep and a yurt.
Tent straps hold the felt blankets on the yurt's wooden frame. They are mostly woven with simple patterns, while those with intricate patterns (like this piece pictured) are meant to decorate the interior.
Material: 100% wool
Length approx. 986 cm
Width approx. 35 cm
**Due to photography and handwork, color variations may occur.

*Real antique oriental carpets are fundamentally different from mass-produced goods knotted in manufactories. Each piece is hand-knotted and unique! Irregularities in shape, color or material, or repaired and worn areas are no reason for complaint. These properties make every single carpet a collector's item and underline the authenticity of the goods.
