Very rare antique horse saddle from northern Afghanistan.
In good condition considering its age.

Afghan saddles are used in Buzkashi (a traditional equestrian game in Afghanistan).

The saddles are hand-carved from one piece of wood with a high chamber. Only the costumes lie laterally on the horse's body, the spine remains free. The pommel ends in a high saddle horn. The saddle crown is pulled up.

Provenance: Uzbek North Afghanistan.

Saddle size: length approx. 54 width approx. 37 cm and height approx. 30 cm
