An embroidered Uzbek footman is one of the most coveted pieces in a collection of oriental textiles. It is handcrafted in one piece with silk on woolen fabric. At the wedding ceremony, the boktsche, such as the wrappings from Central Asia, is said to have been used to keep bread or a Koran bag warm, and later to be used to store the woman's personal belongings.
