The Khyber knife is considered THE traditional edged weapon of the Pashtun tribes living around the Chaiber Pass. Since the Chaiber Pass, as the most important mountain pass in the Hindu Kush, has always had enormous strategic and economic importance, the Khyber knife is also widespread in the region around Afghanistan, Pakistan and northern India. Since the Khyber knife comes in many different sizes, blade lengths of over 50 cm are not uncommon.
This powerful Khyber knife also moves in this area. In addition, it bears some features that are generally characteristic of the Khyber knife. What is particularly striking is the shape of the blade, which begins with a broad base and tapers to a fine point. The spine of the blade is consistently very wide, which gives the blade an extraordinarily high degree of stability. Thanks to the broad base mentioned and the associated center of gravity that is close to the handle, the Khyber knife is by no means too top-heavy, but well balanced. Typical for Khyber knives is the metal ferrule, while the handle scales are made of wood.
