Mafrash: Are woven transport covers and packing sacks, which are mainly used to store the quilts of the Shahsavan nomads. They are rectangular with two large and two small sides and are mostly made using the sumakh technique.
Bedding Bags: Usually the pieces were loom woven using a technique called sumak, creating the different patterns on the sides as well as the woven bottom. Sometimes loops of wool were sewn onto the top of the bag so that they could be tied to the camels with straps. When the nomads who used the bags lived in their tents, bed covers in the bags are removed and the bag is hung on the walls of the tent.
Nomadic Carpets: These are carpets made by nomads. Nomads are constantly moving from place to place and are not settled in one area. They make handmade rugs that are woven on a collapsible loom. Because of this there may be small weave variations and the rugs may be slightly uneven in shape. In addition, the carpet is designed from memory. So the design depends on the particular carpet weaver. So sometimes the pattern on your carpets is not the same.
