Exceptional Afghan 'Pida' chair with sculpted back, hand carved teak decorated with horses, flowers and geometric elements and foam seat. The frame still has its original patina and is very comfortable despite its low profile. A mix of ancient Nuristan and modern influences have come together to create these intricate tribal carvings. Afghans traditionally used horses as a buzkashi sport and so the horse is used throughout Afghanistan as a symbol of nobility and strength.
